Writing an Epitaph

Ms. Scott asks the students to write their own epitaphs and to design their own tombstones. The students research some famous epitaphs on the Internet. Using the writing process, Kyle writes an epitaph that describes the life he hopes to lead in the future.

Writing a Drama

A local dramatic producer/director tells the writing-club students that the essence of drama is conflict, the heart of all drama. Bryan works in a group with Brad, Sarah, and Lindsey. They often disagree, but they find ways to overcome their differences. They settle on an unusual version of "Hansel and Gretel."

The Case of the Twisted Triangles

The kids write a rough draft of their story and the girls show Kyle some revisions they came up with. After hashing out the revisions, they write their final draft and produce a slide show based on their story. They present their story and it is a big hit with the students and their teacher.
